Creative Ambitions - Cluster DVD
Lack of awareness of the creative businesses in the cross border regions was the motivation to establish the Creative Ambition Creative Cluster. Omagh Enterprise Company in joint partnership with Leitrim County Enterprise Board launches the new Cross Border Creative Cluster.
The Cross Border Creative Cluster has been developed through a range of targeted interventions including cross border networking events, mentoring programme, website and finally through the branding and development of a DVD.
The Cross Border Creative Cluster DVD was filmed and produced by Soupstone Productions Ltd a member of the Creative Ambition Project. The DVD illustrates a range of creative businesses within the creative cluster, in their own business setting. The DVD highlights the array of creative talent that is present in the cross border region and also emphasises the importance that small businesses have on the local economy.
Nicholas O Shiel commented that “our economy faces a global challenge. Manufacturing and low valve added jobs are moving overseas to lower cost economies. If we are to meet this challenge and build a successful economy we must create and grow more small businesses”.
Creative Ambition is a forward-thinking initiative supported by the EU Programme for Peace & Reconciliation administered by Co-Operation Ireland. Its aim is to help creative sector businesses in the border counties of Armagh, Cavan, Fermanagh, Leitrim, Monaghan and Tyrone to fulfil the vast potential of this dynamic and energetic sector. Participating businesses include: architects; fashion, interior and graphic designers; TV, film and radio producers; multimedia, art and craft businesses, photographers, publishing and printing, design etc.
